20 September 2005

by Mike Swindell

Deaf cricket has received a boost with the news that travel management company ATP International is to sponsor the England team to the World Cup competition in India this November.

Australia is the current holder of the World cup but faces a challenge this year from Bangladesh, India, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa as well as from England.

Mike O’Mahony, chairman for England Cricket Association for the Deaf, said: “Since ECAD was formed in 2003, sponsorship has played a vital role in giving our cricketers the chance to compete in the international arena.

“It is great to have ATP on board as the sponsor of our trip to India and we look forward to working closely with them.”

ATP is also supporting the English Cricket learning difficulties tour of South Africa.
